Summer Art Camp - Yokai & Kaiju

  • Art School Santa Fe 3600 Cerrillos Road Unit 714C/D Santa Fe, NM 87507 USA (map)

*** This camp is full. Waiting list is available ***

In this very exciting art camp artists will learn how to create their own monsters and mischievous characters by acquiring an understanding of scale, perspective, sketching, character design and emotional expression, movement and action. Also, students will learn about the history of the Kaiju and the mythology behind Yokai. Watch out for toasters chasing buttery steaming toast or giant orange cats who loudly stomp around watching as a village of farmer mice scatter! Yikes!

Aprons will be available for messy projects, but we encourage students to wear clothes that they are not too attached to.

The mission of our summer program is to create a safe, fun and relaxing environment for students to grow, make friends and learn extensively about art. It is crucial for the school to create a space where everyone is welcomed, feels safe and supported. Any of my summer classes may offer: games, social time and relationship building, short video tutorials, media entertainment, prizes and treats, social and emotional support, books or time to relax.
